Peer Review Process

All submissions to the GESCA 2025 will be managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, ensuring a streamlined and transparent review process. The peer review process is organized into the following steps:

  1. Submission Check: Upon submission, the editorial team will conduct an initial review to ensure that manuscripts align with the conference’s focus and scope, adhere to the formatting guidelines, and meet ethical standards. Submissions that do not meet these requirements will be returned to authors for modification or rejected outright.

  2. Assignment to Section Editors: Manuscripts passing the initial check will be assigned to section editors specializing in the relevant fields of biology, health, food systems, or life sciences. Section editors will oversee the review process and ensure the paper is matched with appropriate reviewers.

  3. Double-Blind Peer Review: Each manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential. At least two independent reviewers will assess the manuscript based on its originality, scientific rigor, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field.

  4. Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers will provide detailed comments and recommendations, which may result in one of the following decisions:

    • Accepted: The paper is suitable for publication without changes.
    • Accepted with Minor Revisions: The paper requires small improvements before acceptance.
    • Accepted with Major Revisions: Substantial changes are needed before reconsideration.
    • Rejected: The paper does not meet the required standards.
  5. Author Revisions: Authors will be given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. Revised manuscripts must be submitted within the specified timeline via the OJS platform for further evaluation.

  6. Final Decision: After revisions, the section editor will review the updated manuscript and consult with reviewers (if needed) to make a final decision. Papers that meet the required standards will be accepted for presentation and potential publication in indexed conference proceedings or affiliated journals.

  7. Proofreading and Production: Accepted papers will undergo final proofreading and formatting before publication. Authors will be required to approve the proofs before the paper is officially published.

The GESCA 2025 is committed to maintaining ethical standards and ensuring a fair, unbiased, and transparent peer review process through OJS, promoting academic excellence and integrity in all published works.
